Secrets for the Writers of Children Books

Writing for children can be called the most difficult one. On the one hand, it seems that the children stories are not complicated. You do not have to create a sophisticated plot with a lot of characters.

On the other hand, it is really hard to make a fascinating and clear story. Children, depending on their age, understand the outer world in the different ways. Thus, there are a lot of aspects that the children writers should take into consideration.

In this article we would like to give some of those secrets for the writers of children books. The main secret that can be given for the writers is the different categories of the books, which are written for kids. Here they are:

If you are writing for the infants, you can create only the picture books. This means that your book has to be mainly about the illustrations that play the significant role for the kids of this age. Text will also appear in your book, but these should be short and simple rhymes.

If you are writing for the 6-8 aged kids, you will write so-called “easy-to-read” books. These books are longer in size, contain more text, which can be split into chapters. However, the illustrations are still important and should be present on every page.

Children of 7-10 can read more complicated books, with the chapters of 3-4 pages long. However, such stories should contain a lot of action.

The biggest problem for the writers of children books can be writing for 10-12 years old children. At this age kids already know and understand a lot. So, you will have to think about an interesting and important problem to be described in your book.
