Here are general dissertation specifications that will be useful for writers.
It is important to know for writers that the paper of their dissertation should be created in the following norms:
8 1/2″x11″ sheets; 100% cotton- or rag-content paper, for instance, Crane’s or Southworth, Co.’s thesis bond, cream or white, 16-24 lb wt.).
You need to decide on a type that is easy for reading. Utilize one typeface throughout; italic or script typefaces are not suitable for the main text (.
For writers, it is necessary to know that a photocopied, typed, or computer-printed copy is suitable. The copy should be of perfect quality on the proper 100% cotton or rag content bond paper. Broken, light, or unreadable print is not satisfactory. You should print only on one side of the page.
Take into account the following information spacing.
1. Double-space beginning pages, appendices, and the whole text.
2. Single-space all the footnotes, references, endnotes, curriculum vita, and bibliographic material.
3. Four or more lines’ citations of prose must be single-spaced and they should be indented five spaces from the left side. And there should not be indentation on right.
4. Verse citations of several lines must be single-spaced and centered.
5. Endnotes and footnotes must be single-spaced.
Left margins should be 1 and 1/2″ inches and bottom, right, and top margins should be 1 inch.
Opening pages should be typed with lowercase Roman numerals that are centered 1/2 inch from the page’s bottom. The whole text should be in Arabic numerals, upper right-hand corner, 1/2 inch from the top and 1 inch from the right side of the page. Start with the number one on the first page.
